1. Integrity of Ingredients
We believe that a cookie is only as good as the soil its ingredients grew in.
Heritage First: We pledge to prioritize heritage grains and chestnut flour over mass-produced, highly processed alternatives.
Transparency: We will never hide behind "Natural Flavors" or chemical preservatives. If an ingredient is in our dough, it is listed clearly on our labels.
The "Real Food" Standard: We use real butter, real eggs, and real vanilla. We will never substitute quality for "shelf-stability" at the expense of our customers' health or taste experience.
Clean Label, Organic and Non-GMO & Organic Ingredients: We define "Clean Label" as a product made with a limited number of recognizable, simple, and natural ingredients. We strictly adhere to the following: no artificial colours, flavours, synthetic preservatives and no high fructose corn syrup. Charlie Chestnut is committed to using certified Non-GMO and Organic ingredients whenever feasible.
2. Sustainable Sourcing & Supply Chain
We recognize that our "cold-chain" logistics have an environmental footprint, and we are committed to mitigating it.
Ethical Partnerships: we only work with suppliers who provide fair wages and safe working conditions, particularly in our chocolate and vanilla supply chains.
Regenerative Focus: We prioritize millers and farmers who practice regenerative agriculture and protect biodiversity in chestnut groves.
Waste Reduction: We commit to using recyclable or compostable shipping materials when feasible (like our "Arctic Box" honeycomb liners and Kraft pouches) and minimizing food waste through our "Bake-Only-What-You-Need" frozen model.
3. Radical Honesty in Marketing
We sell indulgence, but we do so with truth.
No Deceptive Imagery: Our marketing photography will always represent the actual product a customer can achieve at home. No "glue for milk" or "paint for chocolate"—just real bakes.
Claims Validation: We do not make unsubstantiated health claims. While our chestnut flour is "better-for-you," we market our product as a premium treat, not a medicinal supplement.

5. Financial & Operational Ethics
Fair Pricing: We price our products based on the true cost of premium ingredients and fair labor. We do not "price gouge," even when supply chains are tight.
Data Privacy: We protect our customers' digital data with the same intensity that we protect our secret recipes. We will never sell or trade customer information.
