Chestnut & Organic Wheat Focus: We prioritize the use of chestnut flour, which is a tree nut crop, reducing reliance on monoculture staple crops like wheat. The wheat flour we do use is unbleached organic. Our sourcing strategy supports the long-term health and biodiversity of these specific agricultural systems.
Clean Label Commitment: We maintain a clean ingredient list, avoiding artificial preservatives, colors, and excessive processing, which reduces the chemical footprint associated with production.

2. Production and Energy

Efficient Freezing: Our flash-freezing process is optimized for minimal energy usage per batch, preserving product quality while reducing the overall energy required for long-term storage compared to continuous refrigeration.
Waste Minimization: We employ small-batch production techniques to accurately meet demand forecasts. This strategy minimizes inventory spoilage and food waste at our production facility.

Recyclable Materials: All primary cardboard outer packaging and internal paper void fillers are made from materials that are widely recyclable in Canadian municipal programs.
Insulation Optimization: We continuously research and test alternative packaging solutions, prioritizing bio-based or recyclable insulated liners and high-efficiency gel packs to reduce reliance on single-use foam. Our goal is to achieve 90% recyclable packaging by Q4 2026.
Dough Format: The frozen dough puck format allows our customers to bake only what they need, directly reducing consumer-level food waste compared to pre-baked perishable goods.

4. Cold Chain & Logistics

Strategic Shipping: By mandating same-day and 1-2 Day Express Shipping, we reduce the total time and energy required to keep packages frozen. Our high Free Shipping Threshold ($99.99) encourages customers to consolidate orders, minimizing the number of individual, energy-intensive shipments.
